Xperia Z Ultra LTE
Great decision to buy
Let me start off by saying I have the opportunity to switch between this and my iPhone 5s. The only reason I use my iPhone now is going out to dinner or a bar where the Z Ultra is just far too big.
I use this phone now for business purposes consistently. I will also say I bought the SBH52 bluetooth handset, the smartwatch 2, and the CP12 battery case. I wouldn't own this phone without the SBH52. The phone is way too big to have up next to my head and use as a regular cell phone. I am also not a small guy. At 6'2" and 215 lbs. it still is ridiculous to use that way. The SBH52 is almost a must have for this reason alone. All notifications are sent to the handset. Answering and ending calls, music controls and reading text and emails are all sent to it. For someone like me that isn't good at all with android yet, it helps significantly.
I was skeptical about simply carrying the phone. The screen real estate is phenomenal and makes up for carrying something of this size. Reading and writing emails all day. Taking notes and general business applications work great on this device.
Downfalls though....the camera isn't fantastic. I personally like the photos I get out of my iPhone 5s. But I am by no means a photographer. Also using the device as an actual phone is just awkward. The speaker location felt weird against my head. Where it was on my ear just didn't feel right. Again this is where the SBH52 makes a huge difference. Using that as my handset makes this device worthwhile as a phone. If you are interested in the Sbh52 I'll leave a review for that also.
Overall this is a great device, the feel of quality and thinness of the phone is outstanding. To me it feels high end. The samsungs just seem plasticky. In a professional setting it just doesn't look good. Almost like play school's my first phone. This is where Sony stepped up. Switching from an iPhone to the Z Ultra you can tell they are both extremely good quality.
My recommendation is try to get one in your hand and get a feel. With no stores in my area carrying it I took a leap of faith. I am certainly glad I did. But it was a risk. If you are looking for a phone in this size range I highly recommend this device.

A phone or Tablet...Best of Both Worlds !!!
I bought this phone after having a good experience with Sony phones. I had the Xperia ZL..Okay this is not your "regular" smart phone at 7" X 3.75" inches I would call it a phontablet. Size to me is irrelevant since I do alot of web-browsing and downloading spread sheets and charts. The screen is clear, brilliant and the colors pop without any glare. The camera is not that great(only 8 Mp) compared with my Xperia ZL which alot of people complement me of my pics only to find out it's from a phone. But also the camera issue is not a deal breaker for me though I think sony should have crammed a few more mega- pixels. I also got the incipio wallet/ case they (sony) sell and it fits the Xperia Z Ultra like a "glove"..This is the best case and good looking for this "phontablet". Processor is fast and battery life is awesome too...

FRAGILE phone. TERRIBLE warranty
well i spent $700 on this phone thinking i was getting a dust-proof, water-resistant phone.. they advertise this thing as something that can take a beating.
NOT SO MUCH.
barely one month after purchase, my screen cracked. from being in my pocket.
called for warranty service and was denied.
instead of help., i got a lecture on the phone from some sony drone telling me that this is a big phone and cant be held in the pocket like a normal phone.
gimme a break. im 6'6", and ihave big pockets. ive carried a samsung galaxy tab 7.7 with a much bigger screen in my pocket and it never cracked.,
just be aware this xperia ultra is made out of flimsy plastic.
get a strong case for you or you'll have wasted your money like i did.
NEVER AGAIN SONY!
you lost me as a customer for LIFE

great phone and the best i have ever used but...
the xperia z ultra is an amazing phone it has a killer screen with great software the build quality is outstanding especially for a waterproof phone i love the purple color the pictures do not do it justice. there are some issues no. 1 A.S.F. or anti shatter film Sony needs to stop it get rid of it sack it remove it stop just stop. no.2 the speaker is not that great if you just made them stereo and better then they would be great. no.3 the camera is not the best don't get me wrong it is a great camera that i use a lot and it takes pretty good pictures for its class but it is no 20 mp camera like on the z1 or z1 mini. no.4 they definitely could have had a bigger battery the battery is great but if they had just made it 7.5 mm to 8 mm thick instead of 6.5 and included better speakers a 3800 mAh battery along with a slightly better camera as well as cut the stupidity with the A.S.F. it could have been the best device ever.
