I've had each Sony flagship since the Xperia Ion and each one is better than the last. I didn't think the Z could have been improved but once again Sony one upped it. The feel in my hand is incredibly premium and the performance will be unmatched until the Xperia Z2 arrives. The camera is amazing, I ditched my standalone camera way back but it still is an improvement over the Z. I recently went on a vacation to Cancun and it was great to be able to take the phone in the pool and take pictures underwater and things like that. The screen is bright, vibrant and crisp. I was hesitant at first to purchase the phone but when I popped my SIM in, it configured everything on it's own and had the network all configured without me needing to search for APNs. Overall I would say that it is an incredible phone, but you should wait for the Z2 because that will be even better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by energieon Best Sony smartphone so far
I'm moving from my Xperia Arc S to the Z1 and my initial impressions are good. The size is the most difficult aspect to get used to however the longer I use it the more it becomes like second nature. All in all I've found the experience with Android and the Sony ecosystem to be more cohesive than in previous attempts (Arc S, Arc, X10, X1). The camera is great however like most reviewers I'm disappointed with the fact that superior auto only works in 8 mp not using all of the 20.7 it has on board, however those 8 mp still get to use up the huge sensor so the pictures come out great.
My two big let downs were that it does not come in LTE, at this point in the game it's a weird decision and I'm upset with it. The second BIG letdown is the fact that headphones are not included in the packaging, this was compounded by the fact that my old SE Arc S headphones are not supported. I just payed a hefty sum for this phone you'd think the least Sony could do was throw in a pair of headphones. All in all I'm incredibly impressed with the phone, the battery lasts all day the screen is amazing, the interals are fast, it's a great phone and would recommend it to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SonyTester No LTE PLEASE READ
This phone is expensive however this phone is not LTE compatible. So far this is the only Z1 for sell in the US.
As I mentioned above, the Xperia Z1 has at least 4 version. The Xperia Z1 C6902 and L39h version only supports for GSM networks with 2G/3G without 4G LTE, but for the XPeria Z1 6903 it also supports 4G LTE for 800 / 850/ 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 /2100 /2600 MHz frequencty. For the Xperia Z1 C6906 it supports 4G LTE under 700/850/ 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 /2600 Mhz and Xperia Z1 C6943 supports 4G LTE 800 / 850 / 900/ 1700/1800/ 1900/2100/2600 Mhz. That’s the differences between each other version of Xperia Z1. All the rest of the specs are the same for all of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WheatRidgeHS2001 Amazing phone with LTE on T-Mobile
This is the most amazing phone I've ever owned. I came from a Nexus 4 and this phone is that and some. Snappy performance, amazing camera and best of all water proof. I dunk my phone in the water on purpose it's so good. I often use it in the shower and it is just an amazing phone. I get around 34000 benchmark scores with Antutu and my data speeds on T-Mobile is 43Mbps in the heart of Denver.
At first glance I thought the phone was gonna tower over my fiancee's Galaxy S4, but it's not that much bigger. It just looks like it, but in reality they're quite comparable.
At the end of the day, this phone is A+++ stuff! Anyone that wants speedy performance, LTE service, and a lot of bells and whistles without becoming overbearing, this is the phone for you. The Samsung is a neat device, but it's too much and too little at the same time.
This phone strikes the perfect balance IMO.
The only downside I have to say about the phone is bezel size. I wish Sony would have taken some designs from their high end TVs and made the bezel similar to that. Screw the logo on the front and the dead space on the bottom. Make it sleek, elegant and understated.
All in all I'm happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by emitch33 An amazing device
This phone has it all. Better build quality than Apple's iPhone, bundled with the same flexible Android operating system as the Samsung Galaxy devices. Add the fact that I can take this beast under water and without a case with no worries, and you've got an amazing device. I've had iPhone and Samsung, but after having the Z1 I'm only looking forward to the next Xperia.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MikeE Disappointing New Generation Phone
I really am a fan of this phone and love the T-Mobile version of it besides it only coming in one color. I have to say I am extremely disappointed by the unlocked version not having 4G LTE capabilities as the iPhone and comparable Samsung phones have had 4G LTE for 2 years now. I can't in good conscious spend $600 on this phone knowing that it is already outdated. I would LOVE to see Sony correct this problem by upgrading the Unlocked version to be 4G LTE capable. This issue alone forces me to give it a 1 star rating but I will say, having used this phone, that if it were 4G LTE capable, it would be 5 stars!

Sony has done it again. The fastest phone in the market that has a totally upscale feel to it with its great design. Ive dropped my phone 3 times and not a scratch. Not to mention the amazing camera with all the cool apps. I have found the phone!
