This tablet is so amazing it's hard to know where to begin. For the most part you have to experience it first-hand to really understand how awesome it is. One thing I notice time and time again while using this tablet is that it's incredibly light-weight. I equate it to holding a large MEAD legal memo pad. Surprisingly, while the light-weight does make it more comfortable to hold and use for longer periods of time, it doesn't make the device feel cheap in any way. The soft coating on the back and the rubber coating around the edges are both aesthetically pleasing and functional as they make the device easier to grip and more comfortable to hold. The only thing I gave up with this tablet versus the one I was using is a flash on the back-facing camera. Aside from that there's nothing I could see adding to the Z2. The device is fast and responsive when typing with the onscreen keyboard and switching between apps. The extra UI features provided by Sony augment the Android interface beautifully and I've quickly become accustomed to many of those features as I use them on a regular basis. My other tablet runs really slow and despite my best efforts to remedy those issues it just wasn't cutting it. I had a keyboard dock accessory that I used with that tablet and upon researching newer tablets I initially wanted one that had a keyboard dock option. While the Xperia Z2 Tablet doesn't exactly offer a keyboard dock it does offer the bluetooth keyboard and I've also seen the keyboard/case combo BKC50 which I'm planning to purchase in the near future. Between the internal specs, notable brand name, accessory options and the overall style of the Xperia line, I was sold. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and have yet to be disappointed with the Xperia Z2 Tablet.

The Sony experia z2 has a great feel to it. The size of the screen combined with the lightweight make it ideal for ebooks.
Had to buy the official Sony case too. Without the case the tablet felt great but almost scarily thin.
Some included software is quite poor however. Typically these add-ons are removable as well...
My feeling is that when I spend on a tablet or similar electronic device it should start as a clean slate. Most only the operating system installed. Optional software is OK if it's a special bundle.
No large, mandatory 3rd party or proprietary apps should be bundled especially if they noticeably affect the performance of the tablet while also coming packaged with their own terms and conditions.
The battery charging time is quite long as well, although it still gives a good deal of time with each charge.
Even with the cons this tablet is still one beautiful piece of technology that is flat out awesome for what it is!

The basics: The tablet is light and easy to hold for long periods of time. The screen is bright and easy to see, even in the Florida sun. The screen is sharp and the motion in movies is seamless. For a tablet the sound is good; by any other standard it sucks. I have always felt Apple had the best touch screen experience and I have an Ipad. The Sony Tablet is as good if not better than Apple. The battery is the best I have experienced in any portable device. The camera is so good it has changed my perception of cameras. I was at the Grand Canyon and I would take pictures with the tablet and two different cameras. I have found the pictures I took with the tablet were better than the cameras. The overall speed of the tablet is close to being laptop speed. In normal terms, as fast as I need it. Overall it meets or exceeds all my current needs and can't imagine any need to upgrade for a long period of time.

I seriously love this tablet...
-I own the Xperia Tablet Z and still feel this is a great upgrade. The responsiveness + weight reduction is awesome.
-It's thinner than my phone.
-Battery life with stamina mode is great, even though the device is so thin. Standby time on stamina mode is one of the best there is.
-Barely any bloat.
-The Sony Tablet Z2 case (sold separately) is much improved over the original Tablet Z case.
Only a couple, cons:
-I wish they would have sacrificed some thinness/weight to bundle a larger battery. Battery life is great, but i always want more.
-Port flaps are a bit harder to open than the original Tablet Z because they are so flush.
-Camera hasn't really changed since the Tablet Z.
-Screen resolution is the same as the Tablet Z.
Even with the lower resolution compared to some other tablets, i do not regret my purchase at all.

I picked up this tablet the day it was available in Sony retail stores. I had been waiting patiently as a buddy of mine had the original Z and I opted to wait out for the Z2, and I tell you the wait was worth it!
This the lightest, sleekest, tablet on the market right now. So light, I can comfortably hold it with one hand when reading an article, watching a video, etc. The Display on it is as expected with Sony quality displays- vibrant rich colors, amazing quality on high-res photos. With recently released software updates, initial problems like moderate lag between menus and touch response have been resolved- everything just flies on this tablet- I mean you've read the specs, so you know this is a powerhouse tablet. I installed a 32GB Sandisk Ultra microSD to load up some of my movies and games. I was a little turned off by the larger bezels around the display, but you come to appreciate them when you realize your thumbs are not blocking your view of videos or articles or whatever you are viewing on screen.
A co-worker of mine recently pick up Samsung's flagship tablet, and we've gone head to head in comparisons. Thanks to the Triluminos display, the colors are still richer than the other tablet- speakers are in no comparison thanks to Sony X-Loud. Too many features that the Z2 has that outshines the competition to list, this is the best tablet in the market hands down to own

Awesome tablet, best ever in the market right now. Super fast, reliable, with no shortage of elegance in design equal to Sony's name. Although I am not a iPad owner, lots of my friends owning iPad have offered their honest compliments to this tablet after seeing it. Micro SD card slot is a plus, offering unlimited storage space. Hi-Def screen gives the most beautiful color I have ever seen. Camera produces sharpest images and videos with ease compared to iPad and any other tablets in the market. I have not intentionally tested its waterproof functionality. Yet I use it a lot near swimming pool to shoot photos and videos of my kids who are on swimming teams. More often than not, water got splashed onto this tablet. I don't need to be concerned about it at all while others have to keep a distance away from pool. Before my purchase, reading some of reviews on Z1 tablet, I was a bit concerned about battery charging time too long. I am glad to report that there has been no such issue on this Z2 tablet. 2-3 hours of charging time from empty to full, which is very reasonable. The only area I wish could be better is battery does drain pretty fast even without using when its on. But there are settings to keep battery last long under power management. All in all, the best tablet ever and more I use it, more I love it.

For those looking for a top-of-the-line tablet, look no further. The Z2 has everything that a tablet user could hope for. The Z2 is as fast as they come, more versatile than most, and does so with style. This is without a doubt the best tablet I’ve ever held in my hand. Here are some reasons why.
Quality of Build: No other tablet comes close in this category with the exception of the Apple offerings. Sony continues to make practical improvements to their tablets. The Z2 has more rounded corners than the Z1 making more comfortable to hold. The port covers and easier to open and close and the magnetic charging connector is very flush and discreet. The material on the back cover is a nice texture that allows for better grip of the device. Some have complained about the size of the bezels, but in my experience, they really allow for nice placement of thumbs for handling the device without affecting what is on the screen. Not only is this the thinnest tablet you will find but it’s light weight is shocking.
Features: The Sony Z2 is loaded with useful features. First off, the sound. I have never seen so many features related to getting the right sound into your ears. Sony even included a 5-band graphic equalizer built in to the tablet so you can dial in your tunes. Also, this is the only tablet that incorporates Noise Cancelling tech into the device. In addition to this, try to find another tablet that also has
• Expandable memory up to 128GB
• Near-Field Communication capability
• IR output to turn your device into a remote control
• Latest 802.11/ac WI-FI support
• 3GB of RAM
• and is waterproof and dustproof!!
Yes, the Sony is truly a unique tablet that I highly recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by theoj Audio/video out-of-sync in Netflix, Skype & games
There is a lot to like about this tablet, including the really thin form factor, fast processor and great screen... but unfortunately the system software still has a show-stopping audio-video sync bug that takes it 2 stars down in usefulness and enjoyment.
If you use Netflix you should know that the Netflix app does not work right on this tablet. The audio and video are out of sync by about half a second which makes virtually all movies unwatchable. This is not limited to Netflix... there are also audio/video sync issues in Skype conversations and certain games. You can find out more by searching for "z2 tablet audio video sync" in your favorite search engine, which will bring up relevant threads.
It seems that a similar issue existed on the previous model -- the Z tablet.
This tablet has excellent hardware but its performance is crippled by subpar software. It's surprising that Sony would build a tablet where media consumption -- a major use case for tablets -- is severely impaired. It's even more surprising that this is a second generation problem and Sony still hasn't fixed it yet. Excellent hardware + subpar software which impairs media consumption in multiple apps = 3 stars.
