I bought this phone for 599.00. Four months after I bought it it would not charge. I thought it was the charger. T mobil said the charger was only under warrenty for 30 days. So I bought a new charger. It worked sometimes and sometimes not. Then I had it plugged in to charge and when I removed the charger plug, the connecter inside the charging port broke off and was stuck inside the plug in. T mobil said it wasn't covered by the extended warrenty. So I sent the phone to the manufacturer in Laredo which cost me another 25 dollars. They returned it as un-repairable saying that micro usb was broken (duh) and it was customer abuse. Now I am stuck paying for a phone that I can't use. Not to mention all the information I have lost. The phone is good. Sony and T mobil do not stand by their products.

It's refreshing to join T-Mobile and enjoy the maverick nature of their cellular programs offerings and pricing. The very first day of my Xperia Z activation resulted in my notification of an Android OS Jelly Bean 4.2 update. (For reasons I cannot explain, AT&T did a terrible job of releasing their versions of Sony released Android updates on my previous Xperia models.)
I love the phone's screen mirroring feature that exports effortlessly to my Bravia HDTV. The easy to implement power saving Stamina mode is much appreciated. The Xperia's full HD screen is superior in resolution and dimension to my daughter's much beloved iPhone 5S - while still fitting easily in my pants pocket.
The clever Smart Watch 2 and wireless Bluetooth headset really bring out the best in the phone. A relatively inexpensive 64GB Sony SDHC chip easily boosts this phone's aggregate memory to a whopping 80GB.
Too bad that T-Mobile doesn't offer the Xperia Z tablet in an LTE version. But no worries. With their included "free" mobile wi-fi hot spot functionality, my wife can take new her Z tablet along anywhere her T-Mobile data service can function.
The flat thin slab design is perfect for aftermarket flap closing cases that virtually ensure against screen cracks and scratches. This is a real world plus over the iPhone 5S in my opinion
Lastly, the phone's water resistant feature should not been underestimated. Accidents happen.

I am loving this phone, not only excellent for texting, face-booking, and web-browsing, but the images for pics and movies is awesome! The internet speed is fast, and it has a very good looking style.
This is the perfect choice for all of us who love gaming, texting, browsing, fb, etc...
And the call quality is very good too!

When I first bought this phone, I loved it. However, after only four months, despite taking good care of it, it would charge only half the time and that half was extremely slow. A week later, it would not charge at all. After researching this problem alone, I found that it was extremely common with this phone (you can Google it). However, I went against the reviews and under the warranty, I got a refurbished Xperia Z. After only one month, this one's charger port ended up not working as well. This time, T-Mobile will not give me a new phone, despite it being a manufacturing problem. Despite all of the phone's sleek features, its terrible charging port makes it completely useless.

When I first got my Xperia Z I was completely enamored with it, the 1080p screen, the sleek design, 10 finger touch, it's a very nice phone with one major flaw rendering the phone useless. The micro USB port is not made to handle day to day charging and will snap after a short amount of time. Its been 3 months of very gentle usage and now I'm stuck with a $500 paper weight. I do not recommend this phone , unless you would also like an expensive paper weight in such a short period of time.

IF you don't plan on using the water resistant feature, this is a good phone. If you're like me and wanting it to take with you to the beach, DON'T trust it to be water friendly, you'll be sorry later!
I looked at this phone and researched it for a few months and was going to buy an unlocked phone (which I found out later was only a 3G not 4G/LTE like the T-Mobile model one I purchased. So keep that in mind if you're not with T-Mobile, you'll be getting a 3G not the 4LTE and you have to activate the phone before they will ship the phone.... Even if you already are a T-Mobile customer. I ended up waiting 3-4 more days because Sony didn't leave me a message to call them before they could send out the phone the day I purchased the phone, I got a second call a few days later.
IF I had reviewed this phone before it got wet, I would have given it 4 stars. There were a few things I didn't like. I could not get it to go into Stamina Mode so the battery drained and had to be charged sometimes twice a day and I wasn't always playing with the phone. The volume on speaker mode wasn't that loud. The ZOOM on the camera is not impressive. My wide shots looked more like a point and shoot camera, the zoomed ones look like a cell phone. I was happy with the low light for the video. It came out brighter than my a77 with the 16-50mm 2.8f lens.
The reason for the 2 star rating. As I mention in my title, don't get this phone without insurance and even with the insurance you STILL have to pay over $100 for the replacement.. My Xperia Z phone got in the water with me for maybe 5-10 minutes at the beach. About 2 weeks later, the PINK mark showed up (didn't know where that strip was it was till the day it stopped charging) LUCKY for me, I was able to get my files moved to my micro SD card (because I was running out of internal space the day before when it was taking HOURS for the phone to charge. So I'm glad my files got backed up the night before -THANK GOOD) and Google was ALWAYS backing up my files too, even the ones I deleted off the phone~ (I think that's why the phone wouldn't go into a battery saving mode)
I am excited about the QX10/100 cameras that just came out and there is going to be a special phone cover to hold the lens on to the back of the phone for the Xperia Z.

I love the phone, it looks fantastic, it's fast, it has so many features. But I'm not happy about three things that I hope Sony will fix ASAP:
1. The lack of a usb/hdmi connection on the D26 dock. The phone costs 600 bucks and doesn't even have a dock that can sync data.
2. I've had the phone 3 weeks now and there is a short in the micro-usb connector. I have to wiggle the cord to make sure it's charging. I have read elsewhere that this socket is weak and fails alot. With that socket as the only source for USB/HDMI connectivity, that's a huge issue.
3. The battery life is a real problem. You have to keep this thing plugged in all the time.
As you can see, all three of these issues are related to being consigned to using the micro-usb socket which is weak and will eventually fail.
