VAIO Pro 11 Touch Ultrabook
I am computer technology challenged. It took a couple of weeks to get the hang of Windows 8 (to my surprise I am quite enjoying the features & functionality). The laptop itself is amazing. I got it with the extended battery sheet, which adds only minimal bulk/weight - I'm a puny 115 lb weakling & it doesn't bother me, & more importantly easily fits in my handbag. The battery life is incredible. The laptop performs like magic. I no longer feel the need to lug my ipad around. Beautiful screen display. I was worried by the multiple reviews citing wifi connectivity issues, but Sony has clearly fixed that. The laptop picks up strong signals even outside on my deck & transitions smoothly from one network to another. Love it!!

Wonderfully light, powerful with long battery
Owned for six months (i7 4500, 256GB SSD, 11 in). I connect it to a docking station at home (using it as a desktop substitute) and take it with me when I travel. Even with the extra battery, this machine is lighter than virtually all other i7 ultrabooks. If you want portability with power, this is your computer. Boot time is 5-10 seconds. Keyboard is smaller than standard but very comfortable and responsive. I experienced the wi-fi issue out of the box and called Sony. Apparently, a Microsoft update changes the wi-fi settings. The Sony Help Line gave me a fix and I never experienced another issue. Service was pleasant and quick. While Sony should apply the fix before shipping, I don't think the issue negates all the other great features of this computer.

Finally, Brains and Beauty in a compact package
This laptop has it all. Core i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD. And it weighs less than 2 Lbs. I had watched video reviews online where users complained about the flex in the keyboard. I don't have any issues with my keyboard flexing at all. It takes a lot of pressure to make mine flex. The screen resolution, brightness and crisp detail is wonderful. The high resolution on an 11" screen does take some getting used to but I also connect to a dock which allows me to output to two external 23" monitors.
The SSD is blazing fast and most of my software installed in minutes (which on my previous i5 took hours). When I set this up I immediately installed up updates from Sony and Microsoft and then updated to Windows 8.1. I ran into no issues (other than one driver needing to be updated for my Toshiba Dock). Everything runs smoothly and without problem.
The touchpad works fine for me but I mainly use a bluetooth mouse. I haven't noticed any erratic behavior with the pointer.
I also like the fact that this laptop has 2 USB 3.0 ports. Many models out there come with 1 and an additional 1 or 2 USB 2.0 ports. I also like that one of the USB ports allows charging of devices even when turned off and unplugged (configured through a Sony utility).
Overall, I love this laptop. It's a small package with a lot of power. Great for traveling and getting work done.

Bad experience with this laptop
We spent $1500 on this unworkable machine. The problems are: Wireless didn't work. The Sound card didn't work, We tried to call the support. They support line keep on give us the same message. We tried to get support online. After update the drivers. It still very slow. Look like SONY store already know the problem. Why they don't fix the problem before sell to us? We will return this Xmas gift to SONY store tomorrow. We spent more then 5 hours on these issues already.
