Full HD Camcorder w/ 30x Optical Zoom
Great camera, great quality movies!
I got tired of using my digital still camera to take videos of my son's wrestling tournaments (from the corner of the mat), so we went with this model after reading the reviews and studying the features. We couldn't be happier! Picture quality is phenomenal, 5.1 sound recording is amazing, and it takes great stills during movie mode which is excellent for sports footage.
Like other reviews mention, the zoom is touchy...it doesn't creep forward gently, but tends to rush in and out which is my only complaint. It's best to set the zoom before filming begins to avoid any focus issues. I also didn't anticipate every five minute video I took would be a gig or larger, so transfer times can take a while, but that's what you get with blu-ray quality video with surround sound audio!

Excellent camcorder but,
nice palm size for most users and functions on the touch screen make it very user friendly.
I used it for my son's martial arts tournaments and was impressed w/the end product. Of course I'm a rookie at filming action shots and was mildly surprised to see that there was absolutely no blur!!!. The sounds recorded were absolutely HD.

Really Like this Video Recorder
I purchased the camera to replace an old Sony analog recorder. As mentioned in the title, great camera. The price isn't bad either. The software is adequate for the beginner or intermediate user. Downloadable in SD and HD formats. Software lets you save the raw video or edited video to your computer hard drive via USB cord provided. Great for the more advanced user with advanced editing software. Unfortunately no fire-wire output. There's been some discussion on the ability to remove the battery when mounted to a tripod. No problem with the Sunpak 6060XL. I Highly recommend this camera.

Excellent High Quality Handycam
Purchased this Handycam and absolutely love it. It is our family camcorder. Very easy to use, Touchscreen makes it idiot-proof. We view our movies through my Playstation 3 with the free app - looks unbelievably clear. Otherwise you can hook it up to any HD TV and the picture will look nice. At the point where I now have about 80GB worth of footage and trying to figure out what to do with it. Burning it to a standard DVD defeats the whole purpose. Uploading and converting it to the computer and THEN burning also too time-consuming. Be prepared to buy a DVDirect BluRay burner and an HDMI cable for another +$300. But hey, the memories are priceless, right?
