These headphones are top quality, durable, and sound amazing especially for the very low price. I use the Poweramp equalizer app for my phone, and it really makes these headphones deliver strong, and clear bass. Sound clarity it very clear, Excellent overall, and and I am very pleased with the way these perform.

Rated 4 out of 5 by vivalacarlo Superb sound, okay fit
alright, i owned the sony mdr xb500 for 7 months now and i loved the punchy bass that they produce which are the reasons why i got the xb800s over the 700s. After listening for 3 days, the xb800s shines further than the 500s in overall sound thouhg at times the 500s do seem to have the punchier bass (only some times). These headphones are great, i love them so much but the only problem that i have is that after a long period of time they start to give me a head ache, literally.. The part where they sit on your head starts to get uncomfortable and the ear cups sit on your head in weird angle. If you adjust this will solve the problem but i wish that this problem didnt existed. All in all, they are a great buy, love them and on top of them they fold up! I recommend them to anyone who are a basshead but also wants clarity in their songs

Rated 5 out of 5 by Samsung2345 My First and Best Headphones
These are my first the first headphones I have gotten, and I believe they sound extremely good. I've always used to listen to my friend's beats, but I realized how low quality those were after comparing them to the XB800s. Overall, I love my XB800s and hope you do, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jrouuu Better than anything else out there
I have never written a review for anything online before but i feel that i needed to write one for these headphones. even if you dont want bass headphones, these are still hands down thee best. i bought the previous model like 3 1/2 years ago and theyre still working like new. the bass hasnt changed at all over the years; its extremely durable for intense music. dont waste money on any other kind of headphones. these are the best ever in the universe better than beats better than bose better than anything.

After my last pair of Sony earphones (MDR-EX38iP) gave out after two years of faithful sound reproduction I decided to buy earphones for running and the best/cheapest headphones for listening. My requirements for the headphones were; under $200, great frequency response, great sound stage, and comfort.
I did lots of research using the BestBuy website to see which ones seemed like a good fit for me. I wrote down the ones I liked and headed to my local tech store for a physical analysis of the headphones. After narrowing down the list to the Sony MDX-ZX700 and these headphones (coincidentally they were both Sony products), I chose these after listening to a few of my favorite songs. I've only had these for a few days but it seems my ears and these headphones are soulmates. I love them BOTH so much ;) Try them on yourself and see why!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MuffinBass best headphones i've ever purchased
I was actually going to buy Beats by dr. dre... but since i saw theese I knew they are going to beat them both at the price tag, the design and the sound quality. I was realy surprised by the sound quality it even hurt my ears for one moment, because i couldn't stop listening to the music. Though i really wanted the carrying case, because i realy liked the comfort I decided to take them with me mostly everywhere, but hopefully I didn't get it. Great headphones SONY love them :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by usinnamez Great sound, HORRIBLE FIT.
I bought these after the sound in my old pair (the extra bass XB500) started to go. Now, they look great, and I love how long the cord is and am EXTREMELY happy with the sound, but they are so darn uncomfortable. I have to take them off after wearing them for longer than two hours because my ears feel so sore.
I don't really like how it basically forces your ear to go flat with how the headphones are made...the xb500 in my opinion had such a lovely fit, why discontinue them?! this product definitely needs to be revised and have more cushion put on it, and be more adjustable. While I love the sound, I just cannot deal with how painful it is on my ears, so I will be purchasing a different pair and putting these away as a spare pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Miran Not the best purchase , but still pretty good
These are pretty good headphones, but sony can do better , the bass is insane, its very good , and the sound quality is also very good . but the problem many people ( including me ) have with these headphones is the comfort. It is very tough to get a perfect fit, and the cushions are thin, these aren't like the xb700 , which were the most comfortable headphones ever . I could easily get a good fit . Its a shame sony discontinued them . sony should make headphones with the sound quality of the xb800, or xb600, or xb400 with the pads of the xb700 or xb500 , they would be a hit, everyone would love them, they can be called xb550, 650, 750 etc.
