Cyber-shot Digital Camera H200
DSC-H200 - Not a steady shot - More blur than not
I am writing this review to warn shoppers that this model is not, as the Amazon site notes, “a newer model” for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V. Based on that statement I bought this to replace the DSC-HX10V (which sadly, I lost) and am grossly disappointed. Even the Sony website, which I checked before purchasing states that this camera has Optical SteadyShot image stabilization – but at least 3 out of 5 images I shoot are blurry. The DSC-HX10V gave me a perfect zoom or close up without problem. I wish Sony had continued producing that camera rather than representing this camera as a product which will “Say goodbye to blur”. I am returning this camera.

Average at best
Zoom is more than the camera can handle with regards quality and clarity at full zoom.
The video is only average as well and microphone is tinny.
Will probably be returning this unfortunately. Have a Hi-8 camcorder that has given me great performance for 10 years, this led me to this camera. However quality is not the same.

Love this camera, great for beginners.
I think at this price this camera gives you way more than you pay for. I absolutely love it. I have only 2 small things that I was not as happy about are the low light picture quality and as someone else mentioned the lens cover is very loose. It comes off very easily. But in the end this camera is perfect for me.

Excellent Camera and Value
The DSC-H200 is a beautiful camera at a competitive price. I've been using this snapper for nearly a month now, and I don't regret the purchase one bit.
Upgrading from a simple point-and-shoot, this camera has allowed me some creative freeway with my shots. Although a bit gimmicky, the "creative modes" such as limit colour and toy camera are a fun way to make yourself try something new and unique. The zoom lens and manual mode allow you to get the exactly the shot you want.
I don't know what kind of black magic Sony uses for the Optical SteadyShot (OSS) feature, but it works really well. Even if you're zoomed all the way, as long as you're focused on something OSS kicks in and cancels the jitter. It's pretty amazing.
There are some downsides though. Low light performance is pretty poor, with shots often looking grainy sometimes unusable. The Advanced Flash features tries to resolve this, but automatically knocks the resolution down to 5MP.
My other minor complaint is that the lens cap that comes with the unit fits very loosely. I'm not sure if it's only my unit, but I always feel like the cap will pop-off by itself and leave my device un-protected.
Overall I'm quite happy with the product. I would recommend it to others.
