Rated 4 out of 5 by valkyrie Good buy
The Sony unit is easy to use, compact and sounds great.(I have factory Bose speakers)
I replaced a jensen cd/radio/monitor unit with this one. Clean lines easy programming and good product.Looks great in my dash.
Plays mp3 cds, something my other unit wouldn't. The USB connection was easy to use with my iphone; got Pandora just as promised.
All in all good buy for the money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jayelem AM radio Selectivity is poor
FM Tuner selectivity at first you get Analog and a few seconds later HD after which you can scan a 2nd HD channel HD2, HD3 ,and so on, AM selectivity of stations is a whole other story , my stock radio locked in more stations especially on AM band , you might ask who listens to that ? Well I do and I really wanted all the features of a newer car stereo with MP3 playback and aux. jack input just in case I get a smartphone one day.
So this review is somewhat incomplete since I haven't done a test of the USB thumb drive connection which I bet works flawlessly but trading off Am stations in a Metropolitan area with many choices for extra HD stations may not be a win win situation .
I want both AM FM and HD , now why is that so hard to do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Eptexas Unit Causing Battery Drain
I purchased this unit on August 24 along with installation kit. Worked well for 2 days and then the battery died. Took it to a dealer and was told the radio was causing the battery to drain. 5 days without a car is murder in Los Angeles! Returned the radio, exchanged for like, and a day later, battery drain! I'm thinking, "Maybe I need a new battery." Bought a brand new battery and 2 days later, the battery was dead! Being a PC repair guy, I checked the wiring and found the Yellow wire, which connects directly to the battery for holding memory clock and stations, was also connected somehow to Black/Ground wire and to the chassis of the radio. I used my continuity tester to check and sure enough, THERE was the problem. Not bad this time only 3 days without a car. I wonder if Sony would reimburse me for 2 days of lost work, as well as a brand new battery? Too much to ask, I guess. Well, tomorrow, it goes back to the store and will get a Panasonic or Dual unit. I hope somebody doesn't have to go through this with their Sony units. I guess I have bad luck not once, but twice! Don't get me wrong: I did like the unit with all its' bells and whistles, but battery drain is not my idea of a quality product. Sorry.
