Rated 4 out of 5 by RCTech Very nice Headset
These headsets are extremely light and feels very light in the head. The NFC is very convenient when connecting to other devices that support NFC. The sound quality is also very good! I would have to agree with other users who comment on the foam being very hard and cause some discomfort around the earlobes after using for extended periods. That said, I guess in order for the NC function to work the headset needs to be fixed against the ear to block out unwanted sounds. Also, considering the different head / ear shapes that exist across different users there is a fine line between what is perfect for some but a little uncomfortable for others... therefore the 4 stars.
I did have some trouble with FEDEX and the delivery of this package, but Sony's customer service guys did their very best to make sure my problem was resolved and I was happy.

Was skeptical to buy initially because these were brand new to the US market (when I purchased) and there were not a lot of reviews to go by. However, I have been pleasantly surprised.
Sound quality is good (as should be expected from Sony)...well balanced audio with decent bass. The fit for me is perfect...it is like a hybrid on ear / over the ear but sufficient padding on both the top of the head and on the earphones make it really comfortable. I work out with Monster Freedom sweatproof headphones in the gym and compared to those these are like wearing pillows.
The noise cancelling piece is good...I feel like people expect noise cancelling to mean "hit the button and you don't hear anything else but silent tranquility." That is not the case but also not my expectation....
Where it does work awesome is when I have the headphones on either working within the home or on an airplane. Turn the sound or music on, activate noise cancelling, and all TV, engine noise, and voices are drowned out #my wife hates this#.
My only bit of frustration is that they don't include a protective pouch with the headset #leather bag or case# which every other headset in the $200 price range does. PS...they also don't have one to sell you #which I tried# so now I begin the 3rd party search for a case that fits.
For someone who wants quality audio, wireless, noise-cancelling, premiumness, and style #side note: there should be an age limit on who can wear Beats by Dre# you can NOT beat these for $200.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yjohns Fantastic Headphones!!
These are excellent headphones for the money. I first purchased the Bose blue-tooth noise cancel headphones from Costco, returned them due to focal depth and not over the ear, actually quite uncomfortable. So I tried the Sony, also sold at Costco, $149.00. The are fantastic, rich depth, accurate focal depth accuracy and very comfortable. I travel a lot on the airplanes, private and commercial, the noise cancellation is very good. My son mows the lawn with them and wants to trade his Beats for mine. I guess it's time to go back to Costco for an additional pair.

Strangely my (and the other review) have disappeared. These are not worth the price in my opinion. Ease of use is good and audio quality just fine. My two gripes are the noise canceling- which doesn't seem to work much and the design.
There are supposedly 3 settings for the noise canceling and it chooses automatically which it deems best. I'd like to have some control over that. These are on the ear rather than over. I understand this is a standard feature of noise canceling headsets. So they are simultaneously uncomfortable if worn too long and get hot on your ears yet slip off if you bend over. So tight and loose at same time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Allan82552 For noise canceling you can do better for less
I bought these headphones with high expectations but was very disappointed. First, the headphones are on-the-ear and not over the ear. They become very uncomfortable on long airline flights and leak the engine noise. I no not know how Sony can claim 98% noise reduction. This must be under very controlled conditions and not with normal ears and in an airplane seat.
The headphones would continually turn off if they were not connected to my phone. They would not operate in a standalone noise canceling mode.
I returned the headphones. The person accepting the return at Costco said I am not the first person complaining for similar reasons

These are an awesome pair of headphones. The bass is great and the noise canceling works great too. They fit your head very comfortably. I like them so much I bought a second pair for my daughter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by guitarzar Need manual control of noise cancellation method
I purchased these at Costco yesterday so I can't give a complete review as I have yet to try out all the features, however, here is what I know at the moment. Also, I am a pro musician and pro hardware/software engineer so I tend to review based on my background in these areas:
BT - Pairs with my Galaxy Note 2 just fine. I was able to listen to music from the phone and it sounded acceptable.
N/C - Works pretty well. I would like to have manual control over the N/C method however. Having this controlled automatically is not always the best solution. If there's a way Sony can add this as a feature and provide a firmware update that would be great.
Sound quality - I listen to mostly Jazz, Classic Rock, and Symphonic music. So far I have listen to some Jazz through the headphones and it sounded fairly good. Maybe a tad compressed. This might have something to do with the Beats enhancement. I would like to be able to turn this off. Never been a fan of Beats as it generates distortion and messes with the true sound of the music.
Mechanical Design - Looks reasonable. Time will tell if it was done with durability in mind. I have owned other headphones from other companies where the design was not very good and one of the ear pieces literally busted off after about 1 or 2 months of infrequent use.
Companion mobile/PC app - I would like to see a companion app to go with this product. This would then provide a nice tool for controlling both N/C method and Beats.
Conclusion - So far so good. Sony, please make the changes I mentioned. Your customers will thank you for it. I will add more stars if you make these changes.
