Blu-ray Disc Player with Super Wi-Fi
I bought three of these units on Black Friday 2013 deal. There were no reviews yet as they appeared to be "new" on market...well, none of them work properly. Each kid I bought them for has all the same complaints, freeze up when playing DVD's, and streaming, won't function at all at times beyond light coming on saying power on, and has even lost volume when playback DVD's, along with not loading apps. Forget the web browser. Kids don't even use DVD function at all due to problems. No more Sony for me...:(

Here's the skinny. Got this for a great price for Black Friday. It's a Sony so it's expected to be great. I've had Sony equipment before. Most were good. But lately been going more for Samsung and Panasonic. Why? Because of some minor annoying issues with Sony stuff. While this Blu ray player is very nice and compact, quick to load and offer fantastic HD picture and up-scaling and the best most linear forward and reverse scan on the market. It's been getting stuck and I have to unplug the power cord to get it working again. Annoying!!! Why do I have to go through this Sony? This happens only when I'm online and watching some Apps included. The after pressing the "return" button. Nothing!!! It gets stuck and I have to unplug and plug again. I don't know why. Do you Sony and can you fix it? Also! Even though Sony, Ultra Violet and Flixster are associated, for some reason I am not able to sign into my Flixster account to watch my digital movies online with my Flixster account. Why Sony, can't I log into my Flixster account? I can watch trailers, but there's no option to sign into my account. I have a Samsung Blu ray too and have none of these little annoying issues with it. It' fast and work great all the time and I never have to unplug it to get it going again. Now! If only Sony would allow owners to add new Apps like the Samsung, give access to Googly Play to download Apps and watch movies even with SEN offering, that would make the But???? go away. Until then. go the whole 9 yards Sony and make it right.
Oh! And one last thing. What is the use of having a Internet Browser if these's not Flash Support? Can you say Stupid??? Who's making these decisions????

It has worked WONDERFUL 4 me!!!
I'm not sure why the negative reviews are popping up for this player. I have had mine for a year, and, for the simple uses we utilize it for, it works WONDERFULLY. (DVD, Blu Ray, Netflix, some apps, Pandora, etc#
This unit replaced another brand Blu Ray player, #purchased same name brand BR player as LED flat screen - tried to have a matched pair - (Same brand). That was a mistake. The previous BR player was SLOW, had ALL KINDS of connectivity issues #even with all updates) to the point of hardly being able to play You Tube. Bought this Sony d2 decent reviews and strong connectivity reviews. It was like getting rid of a broken toy and replacing it with something MUCH better. Same placement and set up as with previous junk BR player, but setup is EZ and it has worked with NO PROBLEMS for the last year.
That's my story and I'm holding to it...... maybe not 'top of the line compared to others, but....... IT WORKS FOR ME

best money spent
Small miracle, easy to set up, amazing streaming, beautiful picture, the internet program is slow but other than that, you tube looks like regular tv! Netflix is awesome, waaaay better than the wii i was using and Im just getting this thing running but so far, im impressed, it made my older lg plasma a smart tv, best $79 I ever spent!
