Great HD video, but poor low light performance
Overall a good HD camera, worth the money only after a significant discount is applied. The USB arm is extremely useful. The HD out requires you to purchase a cable, which is not cool. Still pictures come out terrible in medium light (i.e. indoors, even on a bright and sunny day) with no photo settings to adjust, no flash, and no optical zoom at all. Reliability is ok, though it did crash once and didn't turn on for several days. Sometimes the accelerometer gets stuck and a horizontal video gets recorded as vertical, which means it shows up tiny on the TV. There is no fix to this I am aware of.
Overall, would probably not recommend at the current price level.

Thought it was perfect until I got it.
I had to return it. It was perfect, can plug it right to the computer and charge it and upload pics and videos right off the camera. Loved the design of it and the touch screen. It seriously had everything I wanted, until I got it and realized there was no flash. I wanted a camera that could be used both day and night, and because there was no flash on the it, I wasn't able to do that. If Sony comes back with one in flash, I will be one of the first to buy it.

Loved this so much when I bought one for a family member, that I bought one for myself. Made the first video before I realized that my finger had been over the microphone! Then I realized that this was a SILLY PLACEMENT for it in the first place. If one is shooting, why would the mic. not face FORWARD....as in TOWARD THE SUBJECT?? (are you listening Sony!!)
Other than this, we have loved it and the still camera is every bit as good as my $300 devoted camera.
In all this is a 4-Star camera that shoots BETTER than a Flip and is worth every penny. Only wish they had INCLUDED an HDMI cable of some sort (to watch on our flat screen) and the mic. thing. The cable was $35 elsewhere. That was a bummer.
