70" Class (69.5" diag) R550A Series LED Internet TV
Went BAD after 2 weeks, 3rd unit shipped
My 1st unit went bad in the 2nd week back in December. after a lot of calls to Conn's Furniture (Houston, TX# and no help I call SONY customer service #Spanish# and I was help by Alejandra, she was super helpful. Then 3 days later after call SONY they contact me back to inform me that the part was not in stock and they will send me another unit in 5 to 7 days. I received the TV this week #2/18/14# and NEXT day I was having the same problem, the TV will not power ON, I have to disconnect from the power outlet and wait about 2 min and reconnect then it will power ON. By the way, I pay on 12/13 for a brand NEW TV and 2/14 I have a remanufactured TV send to me bay SONY. I call them and they will send me a 2rd unit..... What is wrong SONY, I went to Conn's Furniture this weekend and there was 2 other units of the same model #KDL-70R550A# and ask one of the sales guys and he told me that they were having problems with this model, he did not know what kind of problems.. The only good thing about all this problem is that SONY customer Service where super helpful with me, very professional #Spanish and English) but the product quality is not like they used to be, I think that next time I will think twice to buy a SONY product, nothing like what they used to be.

Bad out of the Box . .
What a bad experience this has been !!
bought the 70" from All Times TV and it took almost 3 weeks to arrive in California, when I finally got my hands on it, I was excited and could not wait to get home and unbox the unit just to see how it was going to look on my brand new entertainment unit, after I opened the box, I went ahead and connected the TV to the cable box using new HDMI cables, it worked great for almost two hours and then it turned off by itself, I tried to unplugged and plugged back to another outlet but it did not turn on, i called All Times TV to see if they were going to help me but they said that i have to deal direct with SONY, called SONY and they offer to send a Service Center to fix it but after a few hours they call me and inform me that the part was on back order and it was going to take about a Month to get, then they offer to send me a replacement but they need it me to provide them with my credit card info. i have never experienced something like this before especially with a company with good back ground like Sony. i am very disappointed with this transaction, hopefully this turn out well after i get my replacement TV whih is not going to happen until 10 to 15 days from now.

What can I say, the picture blew us away with its bright edge to edge clarity. But the 3D was off the hook. I bought the move "The Avengers" as my DEMO movie. It was my first 3D movie purchase. Once we had walked through the set up (cake), I put in the movie (using our PS3 - 3D ready unit) and put on the supplied glasses and was just amazed at the beauty that is passive 3D. I am still playing with settings, but I am in love.

Worth talking about "just say en"
I have got to say this KDL-70R550A has been in the house for a few weeks now and am I glad I made the choice. This Internet, 3D set is better in person then it shows in the stores. I looked for a few months comparing and must admit I have zero buyers remorse.
