by ZacharyAsa Three reviews so far, none of them get posted.
So this is my forth review of this set, but the first three reviews never got posted by Sony.
I'm on my 2nd set so far. Both have banding, and the first had a large white spot in the middle left of the set that showed up really predominantly when the TV had dark colors on it.
This second set has a better picture, but the set they sent me is cracked. So two sets so far, both broken.
The other huge downside to this set so far is the left and right edges. On both I have received so far the edges are dark like at the edge of a projection screen. Not good for an LCD. I would really like to know if others have this issue, or if it was just my two bad ones.
My prior reviews had much more content, but I'm tired of rewriting. Copy and pasting just gets ignored too.

by livingproof73 Almost perfect......
The only reason I am giving this 5 stars is that the black levels and colors are amazing. There is 0 flashlighting or clouding on this set, which is a HUGE deal to me.
The only thing I have noticed with this set is that the panel has some vertical banding through the middle of the screen, which can be seen at times depending on what is on the screen, or during some panning shots and is slightly annoying, but otherwise this TV is one of the best I've seen.
Attempted to contact esupport via online, but serial number does not exist and when I call I just get rude agents becuase I have had some issues with a past TV model.

Sony KDL65W850A 65-Inch 1080p 120Hz 3D Internet LED HDTV
The picture simply blew me away. It's plenty bright and has the best colors I have ever seen on a HDTV. I really like the 65" screen. This set has the deepest blacks ever, as good as the top-tier Panasonic plasma set I had that this Sony replaced.
The other night I watched Avatar in 3D. Let me tell you, it looked much better than at the theater. The TV picture is plenty bright in 3D when wearing the active glasses. It's amazing how the colors looked natural in 3D. At the theater the 3D picture was never bright enough and the dingy colors had that greenish tint I can't stand. Now with this new Sony set I will be watching more 3D movies.
This new KDL-65W850A set includes 3 larger speakers which gives it really good sound.
This is a Smart TV and has lots of extra's to many to name and includes many pages of easy to select apps to use. I counted a whopping 257 apps once I connected it to the internet/router. I would think anybody would enjoy owning this great Sony TV. Most of all I'm really impressed with it's 3D and the Triluminos HD picture quality.

I bought this TV, not for the 3D or the smart features, but strictly for the picture itself. I put it up against a Sharp 70", same specs., and the Sharp was blown away. I'm the type of guy that likes screwing with the color features to make the picture better. Not on this one. I'm actually scared to change anything for fear of messing up the amazing picture that comes right out of the box. Sony had a bad name for a few years, but have obviously stepped it up and have produced a TV that is worthy of the Sony name. For this amazing price, you can't go wrong. Don't let it pass you by. Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GameDay Great TV
This is a awesome TV. I replaced my older 47" Sony Wega with this TV. This is the perfect family movie TV. We started Friday family movie night with Alice in Wonderland 3D Blu-ray and the 3D on this television was incredible. The colors and brightness settings out the box were just about spot on. On Saturday, I watched a few college football games and I felt like I was at the game due to the awesome picture and sound from the television speakers. I highly recommend this television.

Rated 3 out of 5 by onechef77 Disappointed..
Well I started off excited but now more disappointed. The tv looks great on bright scenes ,but doesn't deliver well on dark or shadowy background scenes. The blacks are grayish or have a greenish tint to them. I've since had the tv calibrated and while it looks fantastic on Blu-ray movies, it lacks the ability to generate deep blacks without some color distortion. Bummer, I should've heeded the warnings about led TV's being weak in deep black levels and now i'm stuck with this thing because my window to return it I missed by a few days. If you want deep rich color consistently stick to the high end plasma TV's.

I spent 2 months looking at TVs you name the brand I looked at it and tweaked it. I am a manager of a store that sells TVs . The Sony by far had the best color and picture love the trilumious display. Picture is very sharp. I play PS4 all the time on this TV amazing and no lag with call of duty..Love football and baseball and there is no lag as well very smooth no ghosting. I would recommend this set to anyone looking for a 65 inch TV. I work in the field so I get to play with every set this is the one.

Research samsung. 7100 and Sony 850. Went with sony as put the tv in brighter upstairs room and wanted a darker picture that sony demonstrated. The setup was easy and internet connection is working well. Have not used 3d as was not a primary focus. Or need. I had an issue with pricing as product was reduced between ordering and when I saw the reduction. Sony would not give me a price rebate even when I was interested in buying added product. Missed by 3 days. Hope this is not an indication of their overall product support.
