I must say this could be the best TV I've ever owned, At 51 years old I've seen the technology come a long way. I've been waiting on Sony to come out with their 3D LED and I'm glad I did. I sold my Samsung 56 inch DLP back in December 2009 and was going to go out and buy a new LED set, either Samsung, Vizio or Sony. After doing some research online and reading about the 3D TV's coming out I decided to wait. Well I waited almost 7 months and finally went into my local Best Buy to make a purchase. I looked at the Panasonic, Samsung and Sony 3D sets. I was looking in the 55 inch category and watched all three sets in 3D at the store. Samsung was OK but had some ghosting of the images while in 3D mode. The Panasonic was good but I'm not into the plasma technology, just don't trust it in the long run. The 55 inch Sony's 3D picture was as good as the Panasonic and Best Buy had it on sale but something told me I wanted a bigger set. Best Buy could not get me the Sony XBR60LX900 so I purchased it directly from the Sony website. My wife almost killed me when she found out it was $4999.99 but she quickly got over the price after watching the TV. What an incredible picture! Deep blacks, colors are right on and the design and features are second to none.Makes 2D look almost like 3D and after pairing it with the Sony BDP-S570 3D Blu-Ray player our older DVD's look incredible. Last but not least it's a Sony, so I would expect the reliability to be top notch. My neighbors are all jealous and I'm sure I'll have a crowd here every weekend of football season. Spending $5K on a TV is not an easy pill to swallow but after having this set for almost a month now I have a big smile on my face and sleep well at night!

This TV to me represents the culmination of Technology to provide outstanding, lifelike, accurate picture quality. Initial set up couldn't be easier. Wi Fi connection to home net work was seamless. Sharing Pictures and Music from all of the computers on the home network was surprisingly easy. Watching Youtube Videos right on the tv was seamless.
For optimum Sound from Internet Content , "Audio Out " Optical Connection from TV to Home theater system would be advisable. I did not purchase the 3D Blue Ray Disc Player yet therefore can not comment on 3D capabilities.

I got the 1st 60" XBR before the stores received them. Pretty impressive right out of the box. Definitely need 2 people to handle the massive tv weight. Setup was a little time consuming because I hooked up to a Yamaha YSP 5100 7.1 sound bar with 4 hdmi in and 1 out to tv, with a playstation 3 which plays 3d blue ray and a Apple tv. After a wireless network connection to all the units, this was a as easy to use than ever, and what a nice sharp picture before a fine tune adjustment was made to satisfy personal preferences. Also use a 12" wireless front facing subwoofer to fill the room with awesome sound and see no wires. The 3d glasses are included and accurate, so while wearing them for long periods of time, take a break and get a cold one. Primary tv use is for sports, photography, internet radio-movies and sometimes for cool playstation 3D playback-games. I looked at 55" samsungs forever and heard about the new xbr coming out and pre-orderd. Been happy since day 1. The widgets will drive you insane until you get a real feel for how to get up and running as a second nature. Finally, this set up is in my home office a 14x22' room. I do suggest that placement be at the proper height in smaller confines. Viewing distance for this 60" is at 12' straight on so the 3D really pops when it does. Enjoy...

Rated 5 out of 5 by taito I had to let you know...
As the title says, I had to let you know what an amazing thing this is. I surfed the web for some objective reviews but some of them were just uninformative. So I hope mine isn’t.
The TV is just perfect. The design of the TV makes it beautiful to look at even turned off. The image is absurdly crisp and the colors are amazing. To be honest, the 3D thing for me was more of a good-to-have than a must-have. That was until I tried it. The 3D button on the remote simulates a 3D effect on ANY regular (2D) image. I was skeptical of the effect on a non-native 3D image. But it is incredible how the TV performs this feat. The first day I had the TV I watched 2 BD movies – regular 2D signal – and it was almost impossible to tell that it was not an original 3D movie. So I can only imagine what a real 3D movie looks like. The TV includes a code to receive complimentary 3D movies by mail. I was thrilled to know I could get those for free. But then I realized that offer did not include the USA territories, so even though we have several official Sony Style stores in Puerto Rico we are denied that offer. Hope someone at Sony reads this and maybe helps the cause ;).
The 3D Glasses included (2) are just slick!!! I thought they were some plastic glasses like they offer in the movies and shows but no sir. They were beautiful battery operated glasses with a metallic finish that just looks good. You won’t feel like a dork wearing some scuba goggles.
I also downloaded the PS3 3D games and it just made me more anxious to get Killzone 3 and GT5 in 3D.
So imagine a huge TV that looks pretty turned off, awesome turned on, plays 3D movies with some nice 3D glasses, plays even none 3D images as 3D, connects to the internet (with all the benefits that gives) and is 60”!!!! How can you not give a 5 star rating?!

Ordered the XBR-60Lx900 a week before Thanksgiving, arrived after I returned to the Mainland, set it up on Christmas day.
Have not had a chance to view a 3D program/movie yet, but as stated by others the picture quality is stunning with the right content.
The overall look & finish are excellent, connecting to my home network "a piece of cake". I also purchased the Sony 470 3D Blu Ray player. I was concerned with the potential for slow initialization times on booting up, given I have a Playstation 3, but was quite please with how quickly it booted.
I route the audio to my 5.1 AV setup, so I can't comment on the audio quality of the set. Overall I am impressed so far with what Sony has delivered with this product.
I was leaning towards the 60" Pioneer Kuro (assuming they can still be had), but I am very glad I went with the Sony.
