The simulated surround sound is excellent in my bedroom. The picture quality is second to none. (except 4K) There is a ton of apps to choose from. Ail in all I am very pleased!

While the picture is great, my overall experience could be best described as OK.
This is simply because 2 months into buying the tv, and after a system update (automatic, I must add), I am unable to use even the basic features such as the Media Player. An error message greets me everytime I turn on the tv now. saying 'Some applications are not available due to internal error. Please refer to the i-Manual'. The trouble is when you refer to i-Manual, it does not tell you anything.
Additionally, opening other apps like Netflix and Youtube is slow. Whereas there are alot of Opera-supported apps available, majority of them are either junk or do not work. Facebook and Twitter integration looks like from the not-so-smartphones of pre-2007 years.
Buy it only if the picture quality is of an interest to you. Other 'frills' are not usable due to their inept design as per the current day and age.
There is a reason why Sony has chosen to use Android TV for all Bravia sets in 2015. And now I am having buyer's remorse to have waited for some time before buying this one, but I wouldnt have known until I had a crystal ball.

This supposed "smart" TV was working fine for a few months. Then all of a sudden the screen froze a couple times while watching YouTube. I had to unplug everything and plug back in to get it to work. Then a few days later, it just didn't turn on at all and a red light was flashing. I called Sony and was told the call volume was extra high and someone would call me back within 24-48 hours. Sony didn't call me back until 10 days later. In the meantime, my husband called another # for Sony and was on the phone over an hour with some guy who was telling him to press these buttons on the remote. That didn't work. The Sony rep told us that a Sony engineer will be calling us. That was 5 days ago and we still haven't heard from him. They should just send us a new TV. Very disappointed.

i purchased a sony 47.6 kdl48w600b tv which was delivered on 5.13.14.
i also purchased a 3 year protection plus service plan although i did not
expect anything to go wrong as i have had good luck with sony products
since my first color tv in 1972. after 3 months use the tv developed a fault
in the screen,there is a red dot and a line of pixels showing all the way
across the screen.i have called and emailed and been in touch with sony support but have had no satisfaction.apart from this problem i am
very pleased with the tv. please reply and try to help me with this thanks

I am so happy I bought the Sony 47" W600B directly from Sony. Zero "buyers remorse"
This Sony TV is truly outstanding. The picture quality and sound are spectacular.
I bought this TV sight unseen, I just knew Sony's reputation for quality and bought it. I highly recommend cutting out the sales person in the big box store- all they push are Samsung and LG and I don't think the sales people are trained all that well. Anyway, the TV arrived in great shape, no marks on the box, it looks like it was flown into Newark Airport and delivered to me by truck. They even put a lot of thought in to the packaging. Set up was simple, and nothing to be afraid of.
I just wanted simplicity, easy to order, easy to setup and a great picture for sports and movies-I got it all with Sony W600B, you will not be disappointed with Sony.

This is my third Sony LCD TV, and maybe my last. The picture is fine, and it is a stylish (thin minimalism) unit; however, its user interface is poor at best. It takes forever to turn on and let you change inputs or select streaming options. Also the streaming is poor, as it can't seem to keep a network connection (My wireless router is about 2 feet away from the TV and I've tried wired as well, yet it keeps dropping the network connection, especially on MLB.TV. (Problem solved with an AppleTV - better network connections, way better UI!)
IMHO, Sony is just making everything cheaper, and the internet ready products are just not nearly as good as other media devices (Apple, Roku, etc.). I should probably review the blu-ray player I got to go with this TV separately, but I can't believe how they continue to redesign and cheapen the products.

The aspect ratio of the picture can not be changed directly from the remote. The remote is too small and makes changing the volume and channel very difficult. The remote has a very narrow beam width and must be aimed directly at the receiver or else it will not function. The unused (hidden channels) can not be deleted requiring an input at the remote of 2.1 instead of just 2. With only two connections in the rear of the television, the antenna and HSMI, using the remote is a multiple step function instead if just changing between the only two connections. The manual is useless and the one stored in the TV is not much better and difficult to use. Other than those items, the picture is satisfactory.
