by nickthenewkid Amazing television
Television set up was very easy, not as heavy as last year's model. Around 70 ibs. Very nice brushed metal finish on bottom stand. Remote has a slight redesign for the better, it has a slight concave top with the buttons and a power button on bottom (weird but cool). Very beautiful picture, people/objects move clearly on screen, decent sound for a television (I also have home theater, but wanted to check the sound anyway), 3D is very well done. 2 small problems with 3D 1. 1-3 minutes of flicker when glasses first turn on (this is a glasses issue not tv) 2. slight ghosting on some objects especially if its dark on light background or it has many lines/surfaces but that is normally if you are looking for it constantly and you can make it better by changing 3D depth in the 3D settings. This set replaced my Bravia Z4100S and I couldn't be happier. Watching blu-ray and gaming has been a blast so far and 3D seems to be much improved from last years models and the movies and games look amazing in 3D as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by drippy18 Great picture! Not so good sound!
Didnt realize with this tv that the speakers are on the back of the tv. Please be advise that you might need a sound bar (which I just bought) or sound system to hear. Tried watching a movie and no matter what I could not hear the sound. I had all the correct settings and still continued to tweak. I know everyone is going to slim but please still make it where I can hear it without having to buy additional equipment. The posituve side is that I love the tv. The picture is really really awesome. When watching a movie the picture really does pop. Tv depending on your service provider and such the picture can be just as good or worst. Again depending on your service provider.. PS3 looks awesome cant wait to play Killzone 3 in 3d. Wish the tv was a little faster when going to video widgets and such. when I push options it takes 15 seconds for the tv to react to it. Update can fix that. Wifi is great! Again I love picture just wish it had better sound. Just bought the sony sound bar with wireless sub..so hopefully that will take care of that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ZZnyc Excellent TV ... with a caution
I've no reservations whatsoever as to the quality of the picture of this TV set. As simple as it sounds, it's a joy watching TV programs/movies on this unit. Also, it took me awhile searching stores for a better TV, and I did find it in this set. But ...
During the initial setup of the unit, I clicked on the automatic update option (using the TV wireless feature). That was a BIG mistake, because after one night, the set turned off in a middle of a movie ... and that was that. The Sony technician suggested to replace the unit because of some hardware problems. My guess is (also based on other reviews I've read later) that a firmware update damaged the unit. And so, when I got the second (brand new) set, I was CAREFUL to set-off that automatic update option. That's my reason for a four-star grading instead of a five. Anyway, now, a month plus later, life is good ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by SharHart Awesome!
This is my first real TV purchase. I knew the size of TV I wanted and the best picture I could get plus 3D. This TV delivers. It's everthing I wanted and more. I was blown away last night when I finally put a 3D DVD in. It was fantastic! Wow, technology has come a long way. The only thing I find a little irritating because then wanted me to come up with a con was where they placed the buttons on the side of the TV. I have it on a wall mount that can move so where I grab the TV on the sides to move the it I usualy push one of the buttons. So it's really my bad. Just wish they moved the buttons up some so you have something to grab when moving it around. But that's nothing. I would do it all over again.... It's so nice having your own big screen and that quality. I will never go to the movie theatre again! : ) Sony Rocks! As usualy.... Their quality can not be beat. Hope that never changes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by madrambler Horrible buzzing from backlight
I purchased my XBR HX929 (46") when it was first released. With the ambient sensor off there is a very audle buzzing sound coming from the backlight. Turning the sensor on lessens it, yet it is stll audible. Sony replaced my set but unfortunately the new set exhibits the same problem. This has been troubleshooted thoroughly with Sony, including onsite service. I've always been a fan of the XBR series but am extremely disappointed with this issue. In all other ways this is an exceptional product. Too bad it has a fatal flaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Blurayboy Worth every penny
I just bought this tv from Fry's Electronics. It was pricey but I'm glad I got it. The picture quality is amazing, especially with movies that are true HD versus movies which have had their resolution increased and nothing else. The only problem I have with the tv is in order to setup the set on my wireless network I have to broadcast my network. But there are ways around that problem. If you can afford it, you will love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Salga2juanc GOOD TV BUT TO OVERPRICE. MEDIA SERVER SUCKS.
I use to had a Sony XBR 2 and still working flawless. I bought this one because was on sale for $1699 at my local SONY STYLE STORE. was easy to mount very light, the stand is kind of lame, but do the work. NO complain with the picture because is excellent. and the 3D in games like Uncharted 3, Batman AC, Super StarDust IS amazingly SWEET.
THE ONLY THING TAHT REALLY ME OFF IS THE MEDIA SERVER DONT RECOGNIZE THE FORMAT OS MY MOVIES (WVA, MKV , AVI) THE APPS ARE LAME REALLY REALLY REALLY LAME. I have a 40" sharp aquos in another room and is a breeze with the media and recognize any media that is on my server. I hope that sony fix this issue with and update AND GET RID OFF THE YAHOO WIDGETS AND USE GOOGLE APPS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BigRog 46" 3D XBR
The new XBR has everything. Excellent picture in all room lighting situations. It was a little expensive but I feel the old TV provided excellent service for 17 years, hope the quality in this one is just as good... Easy to set up (although I did use the on line manual) and everything I tested including the PC interface worked excellent.
