Rated 5 out of 5 by OneXBigTom Feel like a teenager
I feel like I am a teenager again in the late 70s early 80s with the big booming speaker systems that had your ceiling lights fall off the ceiling. Well those days are back with this system. If you are looking for a system that brings you back to when you was a kid with the big bass sound then this is the system for you. If you are looking for crisp clear mid-range and highs go back to the little surround sound speakers with the little 8 inch single sub woofer. This system is loud and is fully bass driven. Want to hear Queen "We will rock you" with thunder driving bass again? get this system.
As for hookups. It has 2 RCA audio inputs for your external devices like a tape deck, record player, or vcr. Another thing I love is the Blue Tooth. I am sitting here now on my laptop listening to my new stereo from my laptop with no wires going to the stereo. It has 2 USB ports for your MP3 player or flash drive. One of those IPhone people that use their phone for music? Hook up to this via Bluetooth and rock away.
For $1000.00 system I think this thing Rocks and I am thrilled with it. Been awhile since I had a stereo make me smile and grin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DIXON SUPERBLY OUTSTANDING!!!
I just recently purchased the 2400 watts shake 5 system, and I am VERY pleased with the main unit and speakers. The craftsmanship and manufacturing of this product is SUPERBLY OUTSTANDING!!!
There is nothing cheap or second rate about this unit.
I was a little reluctant about buying this product because of its capability to have an extremely high volume which could be annoying to your neighbors, and bring the police to your residence, but surprisingly, the volume can be adjusted from a very low tone to the most desired high frequency, which only a fool or inconsiderate person would dare to try.
The sound is GREAT and clear, and I'm sure that I will greatly enjoy this product for many years to come, and be envied by relatives, friends, and acquaintances.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fearmylaw great performance
It performs well for the price.
Pros: beautiful lights, bass is strong, powerful speakers, nfc/Bluetooth works great!
Cons: the sound quality at the medium to small volume range needs more improvement (that's why there's a new model), DOESN'T have digital optical to connect to high end model tvs, usb port doesn't connect to certain mics.
I would honestly wait for the new model and make sure you can get a digital optical port converter from rca cords to connect to your tv (If you plan to connect it to a tv)

I purchased this system for my husband for Christmas and it was everything as described and more. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great stereo system with DJ effects. I love how it lights up as well and the sound is just awesome.

Rated 2 out of 5 Where's the Mid Range?
The Shake5 is loud but it has the worst quality sound of any stereo I have ever owned.
There is No, None, Zilch Mid Range sound.
It doesn't even have any mid range speakers in those two big boxes.
The so-called Cone tweeters are either of very poor quality or they must have forgot to put them in my pair of speakers because mid to high range frequency sound is non existent. That's No exaggeration!
The sound at low to mid volume is as flat as flat sound can be.
I expected the shake5 to have a crisp clear sound but it doesn't even come close and you can take that statement to the bank. It puts out a lifeless sound.
Its 3 band equalizer gives very basic adjustments =( low -6 to +6) (Mid low-6 to+6) High (low-6 to +6) It is hopeless & does nothing to brighten up the sound.
Any device that is plugged into the Aux audio input (TV, Game console, Turntable etc.) has its sound restricted for some reason, example Volume on shake5 needs to be at 45 (it only goes to 50) to hear Sony Bravia TV, it's the same with any other device too.
In my opinion Sony should do a recall on the Shake5 & fix these things so that they give us the quality sound that we paid for & were told we would get by the Sony adverting for this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Edmomd WOW! WOW! Welcome to DJ shake!
Yes I want to joint you on this debate my friend about this system! however I just got my sony shake 5 delivered yesterday afternoon.
As far for the appearance of this system, WOW! WOW! WOW! it worth the money specially with all the flashing lights. 1st of all, when I
1st entered power into the unit, without power it yeah! it came to live wondering what kind of sound this will be delivered in your home.
The sound quality for me it's ok, "Not that bad as they make it feel". Each track of music sound different way! that's why you have to
adjust the sound category accordingly to the music listening. I played CD's, sending music through the system via my PC, even pairing
the system to my phone, my Apple Tablet they all sound clearly nice and pleasant. The appearance of the whole system is incredible stylist.
Without revealing all the goods about the sony shake 5! Let's go to the negative now: However people Sony is missing out a few things for $1000 dollars worth.
But if you consider the size of the two speakers itself...Boyyyyyy there's no doubt how much engineering (Crossover/board) system they put into the box to
make it such load. But as we all know now, technology made speakers much smaller than before to save space also more convenient to carry around and sound
incredible as cristo clear. And to tell you the true guys, "My shocking turned off about this system is the UUUUUUge size of the two speakers, If you're a half men,
Don't try to lift one of them alone, as one already says it on top to have another person extra. 2nd with a sophisticated system as it appears to be, you should be
able to unplug the cords line in the back of the box itself, also the cords wires should have been atleast 25 feet long and inserted into just one heavy line but sothy,
instead of having all these cords lines hanging around creating a mess. 3rd aspect that will probably turn people off, it just that "the system was designed to only used
by the two speakers, there should have been other devices input/output as well where you could also connect smaller surround sound speakers to it, where people could
get rid of the two heavily box speakers. Bottom line is, "I recommend this system specially if you're doing "DJ" stuff as the system comes with a few touch buttons corresponding
like DJ be doing at the club With all the lighting effect you will be amazed by that! However folks, I'm personally planning to see if there's a way I could use the same
connectors wires combined with my 5 mini sony surround speakers/subwoofer that I already had and get rid of the two heavy speakers that it came with.
